| Femi Azeez on 16:46 - May 2 with 3496 views | DarkBrandon | Seems likely we’ll move back for him. Sadly of course few transfers are done quickly, because it is usually in either the player or the selling club’s interests to string things out and play one club off against another. | | | |

He'll be going higher up the premier League food chain. Damn shame we couldn't get in last summer. Matusiwa looks Premier League ready to me but I'd rather have a an established PL midfielder alongside him. [Post edited 2 May 16:56]

Think Hackney will be going to establish prem team now but if course we should try.

Silly isn’t it, players better than him will be on the radar of mid prem teams, who will out bid us every time.

Peter Crouch it is then.

I notice he isn't in the Millwall squad today, and I can't see anything about him being injured. Brighton and Hull are reportedly interested, but a right wing option for us if we want to go back in?

I was wondering about him the other day, actually. Had almost forgotten that we previously came close to signing him in January (I think?), but given our habit of going back in for players later I wouldn't be surprised. Would be an upgrade on McAteer.

My only question mark is whether he was as much a McKenna target as the recruitment team, and whether O'Neil might have other players in mind. But otherwise I'd agree.

Responding to the bumb as the OP may have changed their mind. Think it would be a waste of money. The next time we purchase a RF it should be with the aim of bringing in someone better than Fatuwa (with no disrespect intended, he looks great so far). But we shouldn't go into purchases looking to buy a back up unless we think they have significant potential beyond the player we already have.

I dont think its a case of finding someone better. Not this window. But finding one who is as good as is needed imo When we dont have fatawu our rw optioms are terrible for prem level

But we also need cover for Fatawu. If he picks up a long term injury, would you prefer Azeez to step in for a significant amount of time, or McAteer?

Won’t be a waste of money if Fatawu got injured and McAteer had to play significant PL minutes. I think Hull are ambitiously after a Lyon winger and if they don’t get him I assume Azeez might go there as a starter. [Post edited 29 Aug 15:40]

He is injured. Got injured in the first game.of.the season and been out ever since. I watched I think it was their second game when commentator was talking about it. They were going well without him until today. Think he's due back soon but don't think we will look at him now. He's decent but unfortunately he's still an expensive option. Think they would want at least £15 mil. I do wonder whether Philogene when fit might be an option to try again. Whilst right footed and GON likes players to cut in I think he has a good Left foot on him as well. Nwaneri would be grea. Perfect fit for GON as left footed from the right.

Ah didn't realise that - thanks. Nwaneri would be an excellent signing. Presumably another same league loan if so. Reports say Arsenal want to move him on but he wants to stay in England, even though a number of foreign clubs are liked.

Nwanieri is someone we should be in for. Arsenal want him to go on loan and get minutes. SSN reported the other day he wants to stay in England. Hope we go in for him
