Starting 11 covered but what of the bench again? 14:35 - Aug 30 with 901 viewsunstableblue

As discussed we’ll line up as

Scherpen
OShea Diop Greaves
Ouatarra Florentino Lukic Davis
Enciso Maeda
Emersonn

Or

Scherpen
OShea Diop Greaves Davis
Florentino Lukic
Fatawu Enciso Maeda
Emersonn

But the bench becomes more fascinating in terms of its quality and who’s missing out, especially with Pallacios joining
Based on Sunderland, perhaps:
Walton
Furlong
Kipre
Ouattarra/Fatawu
Pallacios
Nunez
Egeli
Clarke
Akpom

Meaning Humphreys and McAteer drop out. Mehmeti doesn’t make it. Bloody strong bench.
Matusiwa and Taylor returning. As well as Jaden.

A few of the above will leave. And Ogene feels a long way away from the squad.

It’s a strong-ish bench, and probably the strongest we’ve ever fielded. But you can still see obvious improvements that could be made, especially in the attacking unit.

Yeah as I posted - I did have a little think about the depth and quality of attacking options.

Akpom has done well in pre season and was good against Leicester. But we need more.

And while I love Clarke and he’s already scored this season. You can see why Jaden is needed.

I do think Egeli can make it at Prem level, and I hope he has a great season. But at least we have Nunez to perhaps give another 10 option.

Agree those are the options and it's almost certainly the strongest team and bench we've ever fielded.
But would you want to see Kipre against Man Utd at OT? I think Ouattara can play centre back, so if a change is forced, could move him there and drop one of the others (Macateer/Fatawu/Furlong) into a RWB role.

Agree on Kipre - I’d much rather bring Furlong on at Old Trafford

Good bench for the Championship bit as we saw last week there was quite a quality drop at Premiwr League level.

Palacios will help, but you can see why there might be more additions, with last minute loan options likely
