Is McAteer a more defensive option than Fatawu even?). Throw another midfielder in there - have Pala, Florentino (if fit) and Lukic. Move Enciso to LW or play him as a false 9.

| Team 4 tomorrow then on 07:08 - Sep 3 with 2266 views | franz_tyson | Are we at the stage of the season where tactics aren't the most important? Liverpool aren't there yet and are struggling to get things right... so why not take advantage of it and make use of home advantage. Go for it. Palacios in for Nunez, Flemming in for Emersson. Let's not all go Neĺly Negative because of the Man Utd second-half. Liverpool could be an easy - or easier - target than later in the season. Why not build on the Man U first half and try and cut out mistakes and work a little on our emotional indiscipline. | | | |

Exactly this ! | | | |
| Team 4 tomorrow then on 08:18 - Sep 3 with 1874 views | IPSWICHFANITFC | Palacios will start over Nunez. I wouldn't be overly surprised to see Maeda drop out of the 11 with Clarke coming in. Having watched Liverpool's opening 2 games, their full backs are the weak areas / areas to exploit, so we will need Fatawu and whoever is on the left to be lively. | |

This is the team I would go with too and I think GON will go with it too.

Spot on. I doubt we'll see the much-vaunted three at the back often this season, if at all. Perhaps a very few selected away fixtures, or in the final minutes to close out a game. We haven't recruited or balanced the team in such a way as to make it a regular tactic. What we've seen against Sunderland and the first hour at Old Trafford is that O'Neil favours a layered defence starting from the forwards, then a strong midfield, with the FBs and CBs as a back-stop. It might all sound a bit obvious high pressing, but I've not seen Town do it in quite such a structured way before. Has the advantage that the main line of resistance is further from our own goal, the ball can be recovered higher up the pitch and we have attackers available for the counter. To a large extent, that was what broke down on Sunday, when we stopped pressing so fiercely, fell back too soon and had nobody up the pitch to challenge for clearances. We were running low on energy, morale had taken a knock and the conditions were not helping. Our intensity dropped, allowing ManU's talented players (particularly Fernandes and Mbuemo) the pressure and openings they needed. I agree that our approach against Liverpool will be the same as it has been in both previous matches. After all, it wasd quite effective while we were sticking to the plan.

I'd be astonished if this wasn't the team.

I don't think we do. Randomness is only an advantage if a team has a number of near-equally strong tactical options which can be deployed. We're not really in that position. It's good enough that opponents may fall into loose thinking that a newly promoted side is most likely to go defensive, then we don't. Tho that is less likely in an era of intensive analysis.

| Team 4 tomorrow then on 09:50 - Sep 3 with 1337 views | itfcsuth | Scherpen Dara - Diop - Greaves - Davis Palacios - Lukic Fatawu - Enciso - Maeda Flemming Team is nicely balanced, looks at though it will be pretty consistent this year which I really like, with rotations coming from fatigue, form or suspension. | | | |
| Team 4 tomorrow then on 10:00 - Sep 3 with 1296 views | WeWereZombies | Scherpen Furlong O'Shea Diop Greaves Davis Palacios Lukic Enciso Clarke Flemming Subs on sixty minutes and moving to 4-2-3-1 Nunez for Furlong, Maeda for Clarke, but if still 0-0 or 1-0 then hold the defensive strategy (but with Furlong and Davis getting forward when sensible to do so) and sub Nunez on for Palacios plus Fatawu for Clarke, maybe Akpom for Flemming (assuming Emersonn's knock means he will play no part tomorrow.) | |

| Team 4 tomorrow then on 10:20 - Sep 3 with 1182 views | dirtyboy | Well, one thing i'm happy to guarantee tomorrow night is that there's the square root of f**k all chance that this game ends goalless. I just hope we're in it throughout, but no disgrace losing against this team, a draw would be a fantastic result. Palace, Everton and Fulham are the block of games that are going to show us which direction we'll be heading. If we're on 6 points from 6 games at that point, I think we could get some confidence of knowing we're going to be well in the fight. Nothing hinges on tomorrow, need to remember that, get behind the team and if we get something, amazing. | | | |

its a game at home where we could get a valuable point from. Why not play a £30m world cup winner in that game?

I agree with you, but equally I was a bit surprised to see him at OT given the timing of his arrival, and on that basis I suspect GON will start with him - but I would be amazed if he does 90
| Team 4 tomorrow then on 14:57 - Sep 3 with 787 views | Mookamoo | Assume Flemming will start. Can't see Akpom and Emersonn making the bench which will be very harsh on one of them if Emersonn is indeed fit and ready to go. Can see McAteer dropping out to fit Florentino on there. If Ouattara can cover both sides Furlong could miss out. | | | |
| Team 4 tomorrow then on 16:59 - Sep 3 with 622 views | muccletonjoe | He needs to do something different. Liverpool will be expecting a 4-2-3-1 , playing straight into their hands to give them that. Doesn't need to be radical , just a subtle change of formation imo. | | | |
