My 2 cents....
Not digging out any players but first half the back line was a mess, lack of communication etc. 2 quick goals killed the game. Still maintain O'Shea isnt a RB needs to move back to central.
Leif got away with what was a peno if the player wasnt offside. No need to do what he did...
Palacios grew into the game after some wayward passes as the lines were too far apart
Second half much better won more of the battles yep Liverpool may have kept what they had.
Liked the look of Flemming and Outarra again. Can Outarra play RB?
I'd love to see some of those offsides against us again! I thought the flag came up quickly at times, have we changed from playing on?
Some of the Pool challenges, what 4 yellow cards? And some absolutely nailed on frees.. hey ho
Need to improve decision making but part of that is the gelling. We left ourselves a mountain to climb but as stated games against Manure and Pool are not going to define out season.
I can see a team building here along with getting up to the speed in the EPL.

We didn’t win the battles in the first half. They seemed to be first to everything. If a promoted team is going to survive they have to at least out battle opponents. Liverpool almost certainly relaxed and sat back, but I do think there was enough promise for encouragement moving forwards.
Would like to see a proper defensive midfielder in there to partner Palacios, who I think will be great. Not really sure about Lukic. RB is an issue and when Liverpool did sit back we seemed to run out of ideas quite quickly. However, there’s a lot of new players playing together, so I’m not panicking yet. |  | | |

Agree lost a lot of 50/50s in the 1st half and looked powerpuff despite the increased physicality and athleticism in our team.
Think we also lack for being streetwise. When we could see how easy they were playing it around we needed to start breaking up play more. A few more fouls, pull backs, shoulder barges and shirt tugs etc. it’s what the other teams in the league will do. |  | | |

Agree with all of that. The communication across the back line, mainly CBs, and between them and the holding midfielders looks really off at the moment - but we've got time to get that right. |  |

They were excellent first half. Got the job done and easily. Iraola seems to have lifted them up a level already. We simply couldn’t deal with their pressure, energy and desire. Their movement and quick interplay was pretty impressive. I know they’ve had a couple of draws, but if they play like that regularly they’ll be challenging again. Isak was lethal. WTF couldn’t we have face the Liverpool of last year lol? Their version in 24-25 was worse. |  |
