Red Sox have moved their final game of the series against the Cubs at Fenway Park to Tampa. its a Nor'easter and is starting to hit the New England/Boston area hard, and people complain when Town play and its a bit cold & icy outside, cancel the game when theres 5mm of snow, when this would be like playing in the Great storm of 87. a Nor'easter essentially is a "winter hurricane", its formed by different meteorological conditions hence the different naming of it and lots of pedantic meteorologists no doubt complaining that this absolutely is not a hurricane so how dare we make he comparison, but it helps simplify the effects of it as people understand hurricanes, they dont hear about Nor'easters much. but you still get 60-70mph winds, lots storm surges caused by low and high pressure mixes, more likely lots of snow than torrential rain. all which bring down power lines, damage buildings, impact public transport and can cover a very wide area for days. and that baseball move btw, thats the equivalent of moving an Ipswich game to like Norway or Sweden if you are wondering, | |
