watching these highlights I was reminded of the klaxon/horn that went off at PR everyime we scored

Does anyone know did that, and should we bring it back?

Yes - you can never have too much tradition in the modern game. I'm a big fan of anything that breaks the homogeny of modern football, and says 'you're at Portman Road'.

Not a prophet, or a stone-age man; just a mortal with potential of a superman.

It was on one of the blue disability cars in the corner of Churchmans by the tunnel I believe.

The team used to trot out to a crackly rendition of Fucik’s Entry of the Gladiators. I think we should bring it back!

Ok it sounds a bit like circus music, but it is traditional and different!

Mind you I’m not averse to more modern stuff. Fleetwood playing Captain Pugwash after beating Arsenal is a stroke of genius. I wonder if the Arsenal lads and Arteta joined in humming it or crawled off confused?

How about the theme tune to the Banana Splits?

Anything Banana Split related is ok with me! I live by their teachings.

Always interesting to see things from when I first attended games, particularly how restrained goals were celebrated. Wonder what the ref would have done if players had done knee slides and team hugs in the corner as they do now. Perhaps they would have just told the other team to kick off and get on with it.

Nottingham Forest in their heyday under Clough were a great example of how to behave. Their players virtually never argued with referees (on Clough's instructions) & a goal was usually celebrated with a few handshakes for the scorer. No wonder he disliked Dirty Leeds, who were always on at referees, although they were by no means alone.
