With Bournemouth, Spurs, Villa in the coming weeks 16:59 - Oct 31 with 1193 viewsITFC_84

The table’s going to look a little ‘squeaky bum time’ I fear.
3 points wouldve been lovely today.

A point isn’t terrible but let’s be honest where did you think we’d be by the end of October?

Exactly this. It’s why today was very important. And we frankly blew it.

Blew two games in a row. An awful performance against Forest where we fluked a point and then throwing away three today. The odd thing is we'd have been better off getting our "deserved" results - a loss last week and win today.

Not if we finish ahead of Forest on goal difference to stay up!

Take every point whether we have played well or badly and whether the opposition have as well.

I am quite certain Sunderland and Forest would jump at the chance to swap places with us right now.

It will, the table is starting to reshape and the teams with more quality are starting to resettle

We are at least in the mix, we have goals in us but need to be better defensively

I wasn’t too annoyed after Forest; they were better than us. Today was an horrific outcome. The ten minutes before half time and the 20 after were simply unacceptable. Don’t entirely blame GON either. Philogene was anonymous. Davis switched off and sloppy. Walton unconvincing. Missing Lukic shouldnt make such a big difference but it clearly does.

If today was horrific for us I wonder what it was for Sunderland, Forest and Man Utd!

There is no getting away from the fact we let a win slip out of our hands but horrific is hyperbole.

Could be 7th, but there we are in 12th and with a tough run of games. Not seeing the positives right now.

We are 12th in the Premier League on 11 points from 9 games and you can't see any positives?

Where do you expect us to be at the end of the season?

12th. And not seeing positives?

Bizarre take.

“Positives right now” ie in the immediate aftermath of dropping two points against a relegation rival with way less talent than we have.

That said Hull don’t look great. Sunderland look on deep trouble already. Palace may struggle as well.

We need to sort that defence out. The back five don’t look good enough. We’ve conceded far far too many goals.

Especially with Sunderland, Palace and Forest finishing below all bar one of those. I think Fulham are in the battle as well.

Whilst Spurs are beginning to sort themselves out, Man Utd are a real mess right now. Get relegated? Almost certainly not but the longer they go without winning games and the bigger the mess becomes with the players not respecting the manager the more they end up in the situation they were in two years ago. That season 42 points saw them comfortably safe but it would only have been 3 points above the drop last season.

We have given ourselves a great platform for staying up but there is a long way to go. Ultimately it is about us gaining enough points whoever they come against.

9 wins out of the next 27 will do it. Maybe lob in 3 draws too.

Simples.

We drew, not lost today, so threw away 2, not 3 points.
