Six Changes For Town at Swansea
Saturday, 8th Nov 2025 14:01

Town boss Kieran McKenna has made six changes for this afternoon’s game at Swansea City with Leif Davis among those coming into the XI.

Davis missed the 1-1 midweek draw with Watford due to a hamstring problem but returns in his usual left-back role.

Jacob Greaves comes in as left centre-half, while Jack Taylor is in central midfield, Kasey McAteer on the right, Marcelino Nunez as the number 10 and Jack Clarke on the left.

Ben Johnson, Cedric Kipre, Jens Cajuste, Sindre Walle Egeli, Chuba Akpom and Jaden Philogene all drop to the bench. Cameron Humphreys misses out on a place in the 20 following Davis’s return.

The Swans make three changes from the team which was beaten 2-1 at Preston on Wednesday with eight-goal top scorer Zan Vipotnik and winger Zeidane Inoussa returning to the team, and left-back Ishe Samuels-Smith handed his first Championship start. Liam Cullen, Kaelan Casey and Adam Idah all drop to the bench.

Former Blues central defender Cameron Burgess starts for the home side following his summer move.

Swansea: Vigouroux, Cabango (c),Burgess, Samuels-Smith, Key, Franco, Galbraith, Tymon, Widell, Inoussa, Vipotnik. Subs: Fisher, Fulton, Yalcouye, Eom, Cullen, Benson, Casey, Idah, Ronald.

Here we go again. I'll say a repeat of what I've said twice before in recent weeks. KM's either going to look clever ( a win ), stupid ( a defeat ) or neither, if a draw. It's two neither's so far. Makes Claudio Ranieri's team selections when at Chelsea and others look very predictable!

With players getting chances this could be beneficial for FA cup games as well as league games - here’s hoping

Ipswich have a Home team and an Away team it seems.

Davis, Taylor, Nunez and Clarke make the team stronger (Clarke because Philogene has been anonymous away) but Kipre and Walle Egeli shouldn't be left out for Greaves and McAteer who haven't been very good yet.

McKenna ?? - far more obsessed with changes than actually winning I’m sure.
A settled team is generally a Winning Team.
Just check our Club’s most successful periods for confirmation of that fact - or most other successful teams …. !!!
Where is his thinking ?

Again the negativity comes to the fore. Let’s remember this is a squad game, 7 games throughout November alone, 10 more games up to and including Boxing Day. Kmc cannot afford to flog the same players to death it just doesn’t work like that. We’ve one of if not the strongest squad in the Championship. Every member of this squad is trusted to play their part over 9 months of the season.

Usual nonsense comments and negative bullsh*t
Egele and Philogene will be on second half, as will Cajuste.
You have 25 players at a decent level for a reason so you can use them all.
This isnt 1981 when you look at the squad with 11 decent players, one decent sub and a whole load of reserves.
FFS some people will moan about anuthing

Swansea have generally been poor! 10 minutes of intensity at the beginning of the 2nd half and that's been it, I'll still stick with what I said McAteer being poor and not warranting a start - Clarke coming in I don't have a problem with as Philogene has been largely invisible away from home and not much of a problem with Davis coming back into LB.

People not understanding that it’s a 46 game season and this is about keeping players fresh.
Egeli was never going to start today after playing 90 on Tuesday.
