McKenna: Cajuste Rolled Ankle
Tuesday, 25th Nov 2025 22:38

Town boss Kieran McKenna says midfielder Jens Cajuste rolled his ankle just before half-time during tonight’s 2-0 win at Hull City.

The Sweden international was replaced at the break having been in obvious pain after being caught by Lewie Coyle’s followthrough as the Tigers skipper cleared the ball.

“He’s in a boot, he’s rolled his ankle in some way or the other, so we’ll have to see how serious it is,” McKenna said.

The on-loan Napoli midfielder would appear unlikely to be involved in Friday evening’s game away against Oxford United.

Swift recovery please. Everyone is needed as today proved. Negative “mass rotation” moaners……let KcMK do his job.

Cam stepped in back when we was in league one and did a fine job, did not look one bit out of place. Let the boy step up. He’s one of our own …

I’d love to see CamH get a chance but fear at this rate even if he gets on the bench he won’t get on the pitch except for half time warm up’s as he’s prob not first team match fit. Seems a wasted talent to me. He’s no longer a teenage prospect and needs to play here or or out somewhere on loan

Like most people, I was excited at the thought of Cajuste in the Championship. But I must say, we look much better in midfield with Taylor on the pitch.

Gutted for Jens but at the same time this does not feel like the disaster it may have felt in Sept. He just does not seem to be what we need in that midfield role alongside Azor....he looked odd, almost disinterested last night before the injury and of course Taylor comes on, steps onto the game immediately and gives us the drive we have been missing.

See a couple of folks mention Cam and I think some of our supporters will be surprised to see what the 2025 version of Cam looks like both in terms of his physicality and ability. You can never know but this could be the break he needs...and we need.

As said Jens had a poor game by his standards, we all remember he was one of the best in the prem league season. Last night though he did cover himself in glory. Maybe this dare i say it has come at the best time for the squad ,and Jens gets a little break.

I think different players suit different levels of football, Jens is a Rolls Royce of a player with a fineness that suits the Premier League but in my opinion he's not the 'rough and tumble' player needed in most Championship matches, Taylor is the exact opposite.

Lets hope Jens injury is not serious as options for starters and from the bench are important.

I'm with those who think Cam should be given consideration, he is an excellent prospect and not as lightweight as he was.

Incidentally does anyone know what's happening with Wes and Harry Clarke?
