McKenna: No Chance Jack Clarke Leaves in January
Tuesday, 23rd Dec 2025 15:03

Town boss Kieran McKenna says there’s “no chance” forward Jack Clarke will be leaving the club in January, a report earlier today having linked Sheffield United with the 25-year-old.

A report in South Yorkshire claimed the former Sunderland and Leeds man is on the Blades’ list of the potential January recruits as they look to replace injured former Town loanee Louie Barry, who is set to return to Aston Villa due to a knee injury.

TWTD put the story to McKenna at his pre-match press conference, asking whether Clarke would be a player he would be willing to part with in January, the Blues boss responded: “No, no chance.”

However, we understand Sheffield United are keen to bring Harry Clarke back to South Yorkshire, the right-back, who hasn’t featured for the Blues at all this season, having spent the second half of the last campaign at Bramall Lane.

Of course not. Yes, he may be on the blades wanted list but I'd imagine they're not alone there!

One of our most important front players, a great game finisher and now very popular with the fans. no chance indeed!

Is it April 1st? The Blunts are deluded.

To be honest, if Hirst was fit and both Akpom and Azon scoring reasonably well then I could see the club being open to a move. It’s no stretch of the imagination though to say Clarke is likely even as a sub, to score more goals than the afore mentioned Two.
A prolific striker is much needed in January.

Westsussexblue. Where do you get that if hirst fut, azon and akpom scoring regularly, all strikers, tgst there would be a,chance we'd be open to sell a winger?"

WestSussexBlue, JC has scored just 2 fewer goals than your 3 mentioned players have scored between them so far this season, and that's mostly from far less playing time, coming off the bench and unlike them, he's not even a striker! I'd respectfully suggest that if any transfers are in the offering, it should be 1, 2 or all 3 of those!

As I put in the earlier post about this " story ", there's more chance of me going to Sheff U, and I'm nearly 71!

He has really grown on me this year. I think he would make an excellent 10, very skillful and creative and seems to beat people with ease. Lots more to come and ready for the premier league when we return.

When KM finally realises ( and I have an idea he might have after Leicester ) that JC is a wide left player and a wide left player only, we might see even more from him. As it stands right now, correct me if I'm wrong, but he has one less goal than JP this season from far less playing time. None spectacular but it doesn't make any difference whether they go in from 25 yards or feet. Who should be our regular wide left guy?

armchaircritic59 Left wing is one squad rotation that makes sense to me. I would start Jaden at home and JC away.

StowTractor, I'd certainly not argue with that, if they both show the same sort of form levels ongoing.
