Baggott Joins Millwall
Wednesday, 15th Jul 2026 18:06

Centre-half Elkan Baggott has joined Championship Millwall on a permanent deal.

We understand the fee could rise to £2.25 million after add-ons with Town having a 20 per cent of profit sell-on.

The 23-year-old came through the Blues academy and went on to make seven senior starts and two sub appearances, scoring once.

Born in Bangkok and raised in Colchester, Baggott won 28 full international caps with Indonesia while with the club, scoring twice, and was the first player from that nation to play in the EFL.

While with the Blues, he spent time on loan at King’s Lynn, Gillingham, Cheltenham Town, Bristol Rovers and Blackpool.

“I’m delighted to bring Elkan to the club,” Steve Gallen, Millwall’s director of football, told his club’s official site.

“He’s a player we’ve been tracking for some time now and we’ve followed his development closely - both at Ipswich Town and through his loan spells in the EFL, where he has picked up valuable experience against senior, physical opposition.

“He’s a good age, has a real appetite to improve and fits the profile we look for defensively.

“Elkan comes in to bolster our defensive options in an area that has been a real strength for us in recent seasons and we’re confident he’ll add real competition and quality to that group.

“We’re pleased he’s chosen to join and we’re looking forward to seeing him progress here.”

on baggott I wish him well at millwall he will fit in nicely their as they are all massive players and that will suit him its a shame he just hasn't progressed to a level he where he could become a town regular

let's hope we start signing players only a month to the season and we have 1 player that's a little worrying

This is a good move for him. It's a shame he never got a chance for us as our rise has been too rapid for his development to keep up. He's been very unlucky with injuries, so hopefully he gets more luck this season.

I met him in Bristol when he was on loan at Rovers. He was lodging in the same hotel I was staying at and seemed genuinely shocked that somebody would recognise him. He was very chatty and humble. It was in our last promotion season and he laughed when I said he should hurry up and get fit to help us out in the Prem. I think he has what it takes to be a decent Championship defender.

Good luck Elkan... thanks for all the Indonesian followers.

Really liked him, would have love to try my very broken Bahasa Indonesia with him and look awkward. His development and our status never quite aligned and he's constantly been around a division below becoming a regular. He's currently a decent backup player at Championship level.

Of course I am looking forward to the new season. I am a supporter of Ipswich town fc. It’s what supporters do, follow their teams up or down. Out of interest blueboy do you have a season ticket?
Being a self proclaimed super supporter I would expect you to have one, although I have my doubts!

Dissboyitfc …… I would guess that over 60 plus years my Financial input to ITFC far excedes yours - however as a paying contributor I do not have blind faith in people like Ashton, without a return for my outlay.
Ashton doesn’t ‘con’ me - Farage Style !! - unlike some !

You can support your club but still be critical when you feel it’s warranted. Blind support and faith led us to be bent over by ME for a generation

That of course is very true bluearmy, but if all anyone does is slag the club off without foundation truth or fact, just wondering what constitutes a supporter. I suggest someone like blueboy is a follower of Ipswich town. The last credit /praise blueboy had for anything associated with Town was his love for Evans, surely you remember blueboy suggesting you find new owners if you weren’t happy with Evans!

Again blueboy making assumptions how long I have been a supporter of Ipswich town! Such pompous behaviour! A question for you blueboy, 5 years ago game changer took over from your beloved Evans,
We have seen 3 promotions in that time, but to go from a team languishing in league1 to the premier is an amazing achievement, would you agree?
