Can you also run me through the part where those ambulances were to be replaced very shortly according to the website and now they will get the insurance money and public donations. That's a stroke of good fortune isn't it. Alls well that ends well

What the actual f**k?

Ambulances being out of service (even for a brief period) means that that service is stretched - a service where the ambulance workers etc are all volunteers.

And the insurance money bit of your post - well just f**k off.

I'm sorry, but the burning of Jewish ambulances in London does not require a deep understanding of the Middle East / Zionism, or anything else to call it out for what it is. It is a racist attack. It's not difficult.

I too have read extensively about Israel / Zionism, having studied the conflict both privately and as an undergraduate. I don't see what difference it makes in this instance.

I despise and refute it when Netanyahu claims to represent Jews worldwide, just as I despise and refute it when antisemites do the same.

Before I go on, I think the ambulance attack is very likely an act of antisemitism, but it MIGHT not be in the example I give below, please let me know what you think.

Imagine you are a Palestinian in your late 50s living in London. Your family lives in the Old City in Jerusalem alongside Christians and Jews. Your family holds no hatred towards Jews and Christians but tensions certainly rose in your family's area of the city after Yitzhak Rabin's assassination by Yigal Amir in 1995. Sensing the tensions you left for England in the following few months.

You don't hate Jews, your mother has told you stories about how as a child her neighbourhood were all Palestinians, irrespective of their religion and they used to play together as young children. You do hate the genocidal government lead by Netanyahu however.

Your wife's family is from Gaza.

You have seen news reports of how hospitals in Gaza have been destroyed and ambulances targeted by the IDF under the pretext that they were transporting Hamas fighters. You know from a surviving relative that your wife's mother died because of enormous blood loss as result of not getting to hospital on time following an IDF bombing - there was no ambulance to get her to hospital soon enough.

You see in the news this weekend how the IDF have upped their operations in Lebanon creating the displacement of hundreds of thousands of innocent Lebanese and previously displaced Palestinians.

You bomb 4 ambulances in retribution for the actions of the Zionist regime that murdered your mother-in-law.

Can you justifiably argue that your actions were driven by anti-zionism and not antisemitism?

Yeah but irregardless of the injustice they may feel against Israel (and that strength of feeling would be incredibly strong and rightly so) translating that into attacking Jewish people in London is anti-Semitic and there are no ifs or buts or justifications otherwise.

it's really not difficult is it.

And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show

I think that whilst he’s in bat he actually makes it to the crease 95% of the time before the bowler gets him first ball.

I’m guessing the other 5% of the time sees him tripping up over his own pads, head butting the stumps and then going straight back to the pavilion concussed.

I've presented a scenario. I've asked people whether the scenario I have outlined could be viewed as an act of Zionism. It seems no one wants to consider the attack is anything other than an antisemitic attack. That's fine, but it's a little odd that no one wants to even contemplate an alternative, including you.

So if someone bombed a synagogue or mosque that's not a racist attacked if nobody is harmed?

So you're saying Its only racist attack, for example, if someone was inside a mosque at the time it was bombed and harmed?
