Be interesting to see if they come at us or try and play more how they do away from home considering the opponent. They lost 1-0 to derby for example and actually had 27 shots to 10 and loads of the ball. So maybe not you typical bottom 4 side. Looking at some of the bang average teams that have picked them off, it could play into our hands if they have try and play on the front foot. We should have the legs and depth second half big time, it’s 100% the game to make quite a few changes as well. They won’t have that luxury from Saturday. [Post edited 14 Apr 3:26]

| Just checked some stats in Pompey’s recent home games on 07:33 - Apr 14 by Tonytown | This is the pivotal game in our running game for me. Win and we are almost there, lose or draw and Saints win then it’s all to play for still. I’m hoping that it’s one where our depth of squad might be enough to get us over the line, but we can’t afford to spurn golden chances like Azon and Hirst did on Sunday. Clinical finishing needed. The pitch won’t be great so we will perhaps need to temper the playing out from the back a bit to avoid another gift like the one away to Oxford. |
Also worth noting our 3 games after Easter we are going into them equal or with a rest advantage. Brum played Good Friday, Norwich had two games post int break to our 1, Pompey played and traveled Saturday. After this the majority of our weekend opponents will often have a week off and we will have 48 hours traveling twice. Squad depth and all that, sure but that’s tough. After tonight we will have 4 full days before Boro that’s as good as it gets for us. Just make it a 9 point week and get it over with ;) [Post edited 14 Apr 14:07]
