| Bournemouth want KMc 14:02 - Apr 14 with 4711 views | maxslaro | sigh, here we go again... "Andoni Iraola will leave Bournemouth when his contract expires at the end of this season. The south coast club are already underway with the search for Iraola’s replacement. Ipswich Town’s Kieran McKenna features highly in their thinking but other candidates are under consideration. Ipswich, who are challenging for Premier League promotion, want to keep McKenna but the Northern Irishman’s contract at Portman Road does contain a release clause." https://www.nytimes.com/athlet | | | | |

| Bournemouth want KMc on 14:21 - Apr 14 with 2968 views | Guthrum | Bournemouth are more of a threat than Palace or a relegated Spurs, IMO. All depends on what they're offering and whether McKenna wants another go with Ipswich in the Prem first (assuming we get there). | |

I can't help feeling the same. He's halfway to creating a dynasty here. Surely he'd like the chance to keep us up, play in an upgraded Portman Road in the PL for 2-3 years then go to Man U or a major force?! Bournemouth would stick even more in the throat than Brighton FFS.

Sadly crowd size means nothing. They got into the Prem and have stayed for long enough that the TV money has made them a rich club. Cheated to get promoted too. "Fairytale" my a**e

Bournemouth have a good underlying structure, Iraola seemingly had a really good time there, much like McKenna here, it's not a bad club at all. They're an established Premier League club ultimately, we're not. If they can match or better us in numbers, McKenna will be interested, plus, South Coast ain't too shabby place to live. A lot will depend on a) whether we get promoted b) what our recruitment/resources look like next season for him to a have a realistic chance of staying up. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

They are a well established club, loads of money and a great stepping stone for managers, If he gets us up then leaves at the end of the season he would owe us nothing. Unfortuntley, they are a more attractive option than staying with us for another season in the prem

Aren't they in the process of building a 30k seater stadium?

| Bournemouth want KMc on 14:27 - Apr 14 with 2812 views | TRUE_BLUE123 | He would get half decent Prem recruitment at Bournemouth. If we want to keep him we have to actually give him the tools to have a decent crack at the prem*. * If we go up | |

I know deep down it’s more than just stadium size, and I definitely appreciate it’s more due to the Prem riches. But Bournemouth ffs, really?! Palace and Brighton I could half understand.

| Bournemouth want KMc on 14:31 - Apr 14 with 2692 views | burnbudgiesburn | I don't see it personally. Not much upside left in Bournemouth. Ultimately it will come down to what McKenna wants. I'd 100% like him to stay, but not as fussed as I was before our last Prem journey. Managers have a shelf life these days, 5 years is a good run by modern standards and it would be good timing if he could leave us on the up with another promotion. The absolute major thing here though, is for it to be decided quickly either way. | | | |

Kieren never pulled up any trees in his Premier League audition so at this moment I can't see any established top flight club come knocking. Until he proves himself in the Prem I think we can relax.

Isn't the point that an established Prem club has come knocking?

I probably agree. If it a toss up between Frank & KM I think they probably go towards a known commodity. Add in the fact that it will cost them a decent fee/ salary to pry him away.

| Bournemouth want KMc on 14:52 - Apr 14 with 2242 views | SomethingBlue | *If* we go up I would expect McKenna to fancy one more crack with ITFC knowing that this time we have infrastructure and squad base far more suited to making a fist of it, as long as we make the right decisions of course. | |

Idk tho maybe KM saw last time we went to the prem he was given Cajuste and Phillips in midfield and Al Hamadi coming on to save the day and doesn't want to face a similar fate next year and wants to join a stable club. I do see your point though.

I guess that depends how much he believes our recruitment capabilities/network have improved/expanded since the last time we went up (assuming we go up). I feel like he would probably like another crack at keeping us up if he is convinced he will have the resources/squad to make a good fist of it. Sky are saying Marco Rose is the other top candidate and he is out of work so that is an eminently easier deal to get done promptly ready for next season.
| Bournemouth want KMc on 14:58 - Apr 14 with 2131 views | FlittonBlue | Before the weekend I was of the view that what ever happened he would go at the end of the season given some of the things he had mentioned in pre-game pressers and the general negative vibe to the season, I suspect he felt he had achieved what he could do here. However, his approach and response to Saturdays game made me believe that, if we go up, there would be enough of a challenge and general support to make him want to stay. Prove me right KMc!!! | | | |

*IF we were to go up, you'd have a significantly better squad than the previous time. I'm not sure you'd be able to really say that is a negative anymore. The flip side of the coin is you'd obviously be expected to win and win lots with Bournemouth. Their aim will be Europe.
