Was it actually something interesting or just the unwatchable AI slop it appears to be?

actually there was some decent history and useful new info. If you don't want to watch it, the salient point is that the West/Brittania/Co-op stand is going to have 4k added to it first, in circa 12 months' time, so that season ticket holders in the Cobbold can be relocated. The total capacity will be 40k. [Post edited 24 May 13:13]

| YT video on Portman Road becoming 40K on 13:18 - May 24 with 3591 views | OldFart71 | I thought the content was o.k. timelines a bit vague maybe. But that may be due to where we are league wise. Whilst I am not concerned with regards to the outlay as we might have been when the North and Churchams were developed because the then owner Mr Sheepshanks wouldn't have had the financial clout of gamechanger 20 and the parachute payments were non existent and we had big payoffs of Matteo Sereni and Finidi George which ultimately lead to administration and those dreary years of Marcus Evans. The only thing that would concern me would be 20,000 gates in a 40,000 capacity stadium. It's obvious that if we believe there are 6,000 waiting in the wings for tickets and that currently big clubs can only bring 3,000 away fans to PR then 40,000 is quite feasible. | | | |

Having been one of the 38,010, I'd quite like to be there the first time we exceed that some 55 years later.

I'm not sure there's anything new in there. For me it's AI slop that is based on various pieces of information that has been ruminated over for the past couple of years. It wouldn't surprise me if some of the 'facts' are based on the AI bots scraping TWTD

Me 3, its quite a good resum'e of what we already know to be fair, lots of areil shots but you are not going to learn much if you heard all the club have already anounced... there is no AI rebuild which i expected.

It is AI but the liekhood of what’s suggested will be fairly accurate.

£100m to gain 10k seats, to think Brentford, Bournemouth even Brighton seem to be doing ok, we need to cement a place for a few years you'd think..

Tbf when we build that new Cobbold stand it be more than seats going in there... itll be a 365 day s a year venue with all the club offices and executive suites and possibly changing rooms included as that corner housing the existing facilities is really outdated now even though its all been upgraded. Once all thats gone i guess theres anothe area that could be developed for spectators.

We have a completely different strategy to either of those. Gamechanger are building an East Anglian destination, and a brand to support that.

The bit about Tom Ball saying the aim is 40,000 is almost certainly from here as it was from the AGM and I don't think any media other than me went to it.

Lazy, that's what it is Phil, lazy. The rest of the media is probably sitting on its backside at home seeing what comes up on twitter.

Do we have money budgeted for this with or without PL cash? For example, if 2028/29 is our second season back in the champ and our last year of parachute money (which would be worse case scenario from today) is it all systems go still?

They've not outlined a timescale for any stand developments, so difficult to say. May well be something which is disclosed in the months ahead.

I was standing in front of the Portman (Cobbold) stand. There were no seats or Exec boxes then. I say standing. But wedged would be a better description. Being a teenager and not the tallest seeing anything bar people’s backs was a momentary thing! It was packed. I remember it being a great atmosphere/experience though. We knew it was special because it was the furthest we’d got, we had a good side and it was dirty Leeds. Where were you?
