McKenna early favourite for the Fulham job with the bookies 14:09 - Jun 2 with 7949 viewsitfcjoe

If someone in the PL stumps up the cash this summer he’ll go for me; but his great contract has also made him harder to get out and less worthwhile to do so.

Just think Fulham are a few years ahead of us; but his contract is a millstone round his neck with regards to going elsewhere - think there are certain clubs we’d roll over a little bit for if KMc showed a strong desire to go, but Fulham won’t be one of them

I used to think that way too, but it's not like they can sell on the asset if they don't perform.

That £8m is straight down the drain if McKenna doesn't hit the ground running. Plus, they'd have to pay off his Fulham contract too. If a club hires Kieran and it goes wrong, they are probably down the thick end of £15m-£18m.

Think it’s also the probability of that outcome - strictly speaking a player costing ten figures can flop badly and club be saddled with them and their contract unable to sell, but generally even the biggest flops can be sold on for something

Most managers will ultimately fail statistically, whether that’s after 6 months or 2 years. Chances of a Fulham appointment being such a success they wind up being poached is pretty low

Personally I’d argue McKenna would be worth every penny, but I can definitely see why clubs bails at such a huge cost to bring him in and I’m glad if they do!!

I hope you’re not thinking Scot Parker. I couldn’t stand that man here. Please say you aren’t thinking of him ? I just have this horrible feeling………..

I think they would be all over Rosenior tbh. I know others are quite keen on him, I am not.

Parker as you say would not be fun either.

I wouldn't say Fulham has much proximity to Suffolk.

Their training ground even less so, being at New Malden which is west of Croydon and would mean a long loop round the M25.

Fulham's a ball ache to get to / from from Ipswich.

It's a ball ache to get to for me, and I am south central London. I would hate to commute there from Suffolk.

Fulham are exactly the sort of club I would expect McKenna to leave Town for. Established mid table PL club; if he has ambition to run a really big club, this is the logical next step - show he can improve a mid ranking PL club.

I find this situation season after season very tedious. If only clubs could accept that in a majority of cases it's the players and not the manager that downs tools.
The owners use their so called due diligence to source a manager and after in some cases a few months they throw their toys out of the pram because the results are not what they expected regardless of whether they are the ones that push for players being sold at a profit which weakens the team.
We saw that with Evans where players were sold and either not replaced or they were inferior replacements.
Not every team will win the league or a Cup and quite often a team will win two or three of these tournaments meaning there's little left for the rest.
Like most young managers KM will be ambitious. He is with a club who have owners that are ambitious. But ambition is one thing, achieving it is another. It really depends on whether KM thinks he can achieve it with Town. I know MA has said the sky is the limit but we have to be realistic that even if the stadium holds 40,000 and is filled every home game the turnover will never be that of a Liverpool, Man City or Utd and even clubs like Newcastle with a 50,000 home crowd still sell their best players.
If KM#s ultimate aim is as a manager of a top club he has to prove it with a lesser side be that at Ipswich or elsewhere.

Fulham isn't one...can't see him leaving to go there when he has what he does with us

If you think he’d leave us to join Fulham, you need your head examined!

I think McKenna will stay based off cost and I do think he likes it here, but in the case an offer comes in and he wants it, for me hes earned the right to accept it, but i do trust the club to get the right replacement they chose McKenna and we knew nothing about him so im kinda chill about it this time round.
