One for the 70’s classic rock fans
I know the production helps but Dan McCafferty had a heck of a voice, as did Kris Kristofferson - which makes me feel bad about preferring this version:

Lacks the vulnerability of Lennon’s original which was actually aimed at Paul McCartney.
Certainly stark and impassioned. Are you sure about it being an attack on McCartney. How do You Sleep off the same album is acknowledged as an attack on Paul. Jealous Guy is more to do with Lennon's woman issues. The brashness and apparent self-confidence masked deep insecurities going back to his being raised by his aunt rather than his mother and also the early death of his mother when he was a young teenager.

I've never particularly liked this song as I've always thought it was a bit presumptuous but that doesn't matter too much when it's performed as well as these two can do it (with their added twist at the end )

Lennon's first solo album "Plastic Ono Band" is very raw. Recorded after John and Yoko undertook primal therapy with Arthur Janov.
Apart from occasionally on the radio I've never really heard much of it. WFH for a few days and going through John Lennons work. Some incredible tunes, Working Class Hero is 1 I'm not sure I've ever heard before. Imagine, Instant Karma etc are Obvious classics.
