Some absolute weapons on there. Absolute thick chief weapon being Darren Day (sic) or whatever his name is on there.

BUT just like in here and forums across the country you have your proper muppets and normal fans. They clearly.have some reasonable ones as well.

Fans get carried away and lose the complete plot like a load of them on there. The more quality signing we make the more (they would only take Diop or "scatter gun.approach"). It's hilarious. Don't take it personally. It's a football fan coping mechanism basically.

They do so seem to have more "twitter" or fans from twtd headline comments in their main forum though.

Poll: Who do we think McKenna (not you) will partner Greaves with ?

Every ipswich fan commenting on there have been gracious and pretty much said "all we can do is see how the season goes" their fans however are obnoxious some including the potty mouthed Darren O'Day will be having serious heart issues by the end of the season, eith how angry they are getting despite they are the only ones being abusive. They hopefully will be learning a real lesson this season when they realise any of the players they have from last season will be nowhere near good enough

David O'Day is the best of them - he is pure comedy value and ought to book into the docs now for when his heart gets the realisation the PL is brutal and Coventry really aren't all that. Here's hoping Arsenal give them a schooling to calm the little dears down a bit

It would be good to be rid of that 9-0 monkey once and for all.

Here's hoping...

Hull could assist us with that this weekend - or most weekends to be fair

Thing with the 9-0s is that it's very difficult for a team of professional footballers to get battered to that degree when they are setup to defend, which is why even big cup tie mismatches rarely get up to that kind of scoreline.

You need an unlikely combo of (a) a team in total disarray with no defensive strategy (b) almost every shot on target to go in (c) the attacking team not deciding to conserve their energy when the score gets to 4 or 5

Also so many teams take their foot of the gas, make subs once they are so far ahead. That day at Old Trafford I feel Man United wanted to make a statement.

it was 8 nil in my head, how a goal can be given when the goalkeeper is being shown a yellow card?

Their tune has changed drastically over the last couple of days. Worth a re-read

It seems like the penny has now dropped for a lot of their fans. They were very adamant on the likes of Grimes, Mason-Clarke and Rudoni being good enough but a quick look on their forum and that has all changed. Rudoni being better than Enciso was never going to age well

A lot of schadenfreude, I admit it on 16:02 - Sep 14 with 1336 viewsDyland

Nothing against Coventry or Lampard at all, it's simply the clueless pundits who get paid decent money to be, well, clueless. The amount of professional morons predicting a mid table finish cos... er... Lampard is the manager was quite embarrassing. It's hilarious.

At the same time any sensible Town fan can sympathise with the majority of Coventry fans who aren't the frothing fools on the socials (literally every club has them) cos it's very reminiscent of us two years ago.

The art of good management is to disregard what other teams do and say. Managers are like politicians they come out with a load of crap such as "Well they should beat us because of what they have spent".
No it's not what you spend, it's who you spend it on and how they perform relative to the price paid.
Those that last the longest will keep themselves fit, eat and drink correctly and most importantly apply themselves in the correct manner and not let outside influences determine their destiny.
Too many young English players think they are the best thing since sliced bread, next minute they are in obscurity destined to be bit part pundits or bobbing around in some lower league.

Seems like they've really turned on Rushworth more than some of our lot have over Scherpen

You would think Rushworth has a lot more credit in the bank from last year too!

£23m rising to £30m was a hell of a lot to spend on a g/k without any appearances in the top flight.

I've always had a strange fondness for Coventry that I can't tie down. Perhaps growing up in the 90s with both our teams being equally crap on FIFA 94 and 95 on the mega drive had something to do with it? Or maybe it was their demise alongside our own in the 2000s?

Because of that I'll put some of the absolute deluded and entitled nonsense spouted in their forum (eg a few of them STILL with sour grapes over our double-dismantling of them last season) down to a few unique individuals and assume that most of their fanbase are sensible and grounded.

Yeah I used to have that about the girl next door when in my teens. Sort of a tingly feel, then wet pants.

I didn’t realise until over the weekend just how little business Coventry done in the summer, and how little quality they signed within those 8 players. The only standout, and someone I’d heard we was after as well was Yirenkyi.

They very much do have the feeling of a team that we were 2 years ago, so should be well equipped when they go back down.

Poll: We’ve got super KM, he knows exactly what we need. Woolfie at the back…

I think last I saw Rushworth was ranked last in the league for save %. Sherpen’s wasn’t brilliant but his saves per 90 is solidly mid table, suggesting the problem is the defence not shielding him - he’s simply had too much to do!

I'm not interested enough to read it, but I noticed a lot of fans and pundits didn't know much about the players we signed in the summer. I don't live in Ipswich these days, and I told a few people I expected Ipswich to stay up. They all seemed very surprised and thought we were certain to go down. Most fans don't pay much attention to other clubs. They also thought Coventry would be the most likely of the three promoted clubs to stay up (no idea why).

I was shocked how bad their window was. Was a bit worried Lampard may have been able to pull in a couple of decent, experienced PL players like Loftus Cheek, Tomori, Barkley, Mount, Abraham. But instead they've spent most of their budget on young players with little top flight experience that Lampard already seems to have relegated to their bench in favour of players he had in the Championship.
