Hopefully he and Forest will be a better match than him and Chelsea

Did Chelsea insert a sell on? If he does go on to be the player he was showing signs of with us, we could get another bit of a bonus down the line!

Because he is a really good player.

Was mind boggling to me that some fans said they wouldn't have wanted him back.

Poll: Will Paul Lambert be Ipswich Town manager on the final day of this season ?

It's amazing how much of a binary view people can have. Player has a good season, he's a good player. Player had a bad season, he's a bad player.

He'd have been a brilliant signing for us, even on loan.

Poll: If forced to sell one of the following this summer, who would you sell?

He was literally our stand out player for the whole season. Fans not wanting him are the type of people that get sucked into agendas on socials and narratives that suit their content. He is an Outstanding player. One poor year at a basket case club like Chelsea doesn’t make you crap. Would have taken him back in a heartbeat. The fee quite clearly put paid to that. He has all the attributes to become a top PL player in time.

If he'd gone there or similar a year ago instead of Chelsea I genuinely believe he would've been in or about the England World Cup squad, injuries dependant of course.

However, really glad he's found a club that I think he can thrive at and hope he does really well there. Apart from against us, obviously!

Scored 7 in the first half of the sesoan and 5 in the second half.

The supposed drop off in form for the second half of the season is nowhere near as bad as it's become in some people's heads on here

Its been shown by different posters why the 2nd half was different. Cant be bothered to find them. Just cant agree about the whole season comment

But i would have taken him back.

That was the thing for me. The fee was very much too high.

It would very likely have prevented us getting in a more experienced forward. Emersonn is still quite raw and Delap is recovering from a setback in his career, plus having issues with rawness himself.

We don't have space in the squad for too many development players, not when fighting for our survival.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

I would imagine that "evidence" is shown in the context of a side that was vaguely competitive for the first half of the season and feel off a cliff in the second. I don't think that was down to the effort/skill/form of their 21-year-old striker.

Feel free to correct me if they show how many chances we continued to create and how poor he was at getting involved.

Youre looking at it at just goal return which wasnt what was said

But to go through it

Games
1-19
Goals 8
Assists 2
Yellows 4
Passing 11.4 per 90
Ball control 1.8 miscontrols
Duals won 48.2% airiel 44.1%

20-38
Goals 4
Assists0
Yellows 8
Passes 6.8 per 90
Ball control 3.4 miscontrols
Duals won 35.6% airiel 28.4%

Absolutely town ourselves had a bad 2nd half
However delaps 1-19 form helped us be competitive in the first place

When he stopped winning balls. Holding it etc it didnt help what was already a difficult task for us.

Not sure where your stats are coming from but transfermarket definitely has him scoring 5 from game 20 - 38
