| Fair play to Mehmeti on 13:18 - Aug 30 with 2506 views | franz_tyson | We have plenty of left sided attackers in front of him. The 10 position: Enciso seems nailed down. Then SWE as he's had a good pre-season but I wouldn't say he's completely nailed down a spot as second choice. Clarke has been played there, but isn't great there. Nunez also an option, but better IMO as an 8. Akpom is much better as a 9 and, currently, we have only 2 9's. Mehmeti could well have a chance as back up to Enciso. We need a 9, but I think there's a big gap in quality after Enciso in the 10 position. | | | |

25k per week + 6.25k per week in potential bonuses at Town. Nice work if you can get it for not playing.

If true that's madness. I know players earn vast sums in the Prem. Harland for instance is on 500k a week. Whilst I know footballers have a shorter career than most, maybe 18/19 to mid 30's and if you are super fit and look after yourself like Messi or Ronaldo then it's possible to last until 40 years of age. But that is extremely unusual. But even on £25,000 a week and having a reasonable career, investing sensibly for your future there's no reason why a player should be broke in his 50's or 60's. But then we know some are.
| Fair play to Mehmeti on 13:52 - Aug 30 with 1921 views | tetchris | I’m sorry but he has no chance of getting into final 25 man PL squad. We are still looking to add to the squad and so some players will have to leave and he is one of them. Struggled in the championship at times last season so don’t see how he believes he has a chance to play in PL. I think GON will have a word with him and tell him to accept a move. He might go out on loan before transfer window closes instead of permanently it ultimately he needs to leave and play regularly on the championship which in all honesty is his level | | | |

4m over 3 years + 1m in bonuses over 3 years on top is the deal in short.

Guess he has every right to do so. May get some game time from the bench, say he's Premier League player and move in January?

But even if he is loaned to the Championship and they only pay half his wages, we are obliged to pay the other half. Financially, it won't affect him adversely. It just comes down to whether he wants to play or not, but as others have said, he has zero chance of making the squad if we get the additions we are after. He's a decent Championship player, and that's his level.

| Fair play to Mehmeti on 14:41 - Aug 30 with 1250 views | Axeldalai_lama | I wonder how this will work with the new rules that players can leave for free if they are left out of the first team picture by clubs? If he is actively turning down moves, does he still have a case if he isn't given a squad place? Could he technically walk away for free and sign for them on much improved terms?! Imagine he wouldn't anyway, but it's another can of worms. | | | |

That's not a thing I believe that's in regard to making players train on their own or in youth team. Mehmeti would still train with us even if not registered. Even then it would be a real legal can of worms, with lawsuits flying all over the place. [Post edited 30 Aug 14:48]

The things you read on here! Imagine with the contracts in this day and age being able to walk for free if you’re dropped lol.

Yeah, I think it's in regard to bomb squads. Players must be able to fully train with the first team, have all first team medical facilities made available to them etc. Clubs rightly have a duty of care to all their employees, but you don't get to walk free for not being registered in a 25 man PL squad lol

We want to sell him outright, a loan is no good, we are sending very average players on loan as we can't off load them as their salaries are too high. What average championship clubs are going to pay him £25k p/w + bonuses for Mehmeti PLUS 6 - 8m fee on top. Jeezo.

Not sure even Wrexham would pay what would basically be 5m salary (3 years inc bonuses) + 7.5m fee. £12.5m deal for Mehmeti would be strong and I am being polite.

Yeah, saw a much more specific article on it, but that's the basics. I was actually convinced by others that it was a much bigger thing that could be used pretty widely. Was originally saying it was bobbins myself. Maybe I ran with it too far, but thought it was an interesting premise. Constructive dismissal or whatever, not having the opportunity to do your job, but equally not being allowed to leave to your desired employer. Okay, not that in this case, but it always gets me thinking now. Meh, my bad, move along.
