| Why McKenna stepped down 18:28 - Aug 30 with 2359 views | stiff_talking | Today’s 2nd half probably why McKenna stepped down. It’s a big job for Gary and his team to take on. We have worked so hard this window to bring in the right ingredients but I’m glad there is still time to bring in more quality. We need right handed center back and #9 as priority. | | | | |

Some people seem to find it difficult to move on. Something I learned to do in the early to mid 1980's. Keep looking backwards, you walk into brick walls. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

It wasn't so long back we were laughing at Norwich fans for saying they drew the second half against Liverpool after being 4 down.... [Post edited 30 Aug 19:56]

Today was all about fine margins what didn’t go our way. I am a lot more confident that we will be more than ok after watching the game If Nunez hadn’t slipped and we had of gone in at half time at 1 nil it could have been different The weather was a monsoon and made it hard, ok it effects both teams but more the new team having to gel and try to play whilst learning their team mates strengths and weaknesses real time especially during such weather conditions that they would not have practiced in as a team. If var didn’t have contentious rules or maguire was has a better shot and can shoot On target it would have been chalked off . If we hadn’t have been those goals down we would not have been so hung go for the 3rd. 4th was pin ball and could have gone any where - 5th again weather. I think we put on a good showing and lots of positives from all - scherpen was very good, fats will cause a lot of teams issues and like ways Enciso will be player of the season if he stays fit. What a player. Finally I feel partly to blame for transferring out haaland in my fantasy league to have a super midfield and having maguire in my team and Bruno as captain to try and curse them but seemed to have the opposite effect. I wonder what McKenna thinks about giving it a rest?

End of the season seems like a pretty sensible time to me. I’m struggling to think of a better time to break if he wanted a rest. Christmas last year? Just before the run in of the Championship season? Now? Christmas this year? None seem better for the club. Logically, after the end of the season giving the new manager all of ore-drain is probably the ideal time for a change. I haven’t spoken to him though and can only go on what he said publicly.

Give it a rest there will be many examples of teams who value of squad and wage bill are higher than ours that have conceded more. A slip, a very dodgy 2nd goal and a dubious pen (did Greaves actually touch Cunha?) are all key factors. Fine margins as someone else posted. I mean we could all totally over react off the back of 1 defeat at Old Trafford of all places.

Defeat at Old Trafford isn't the issue It is the MANNER of defeat, a weak, pathetic capitulation. Look at Fernandes' third and Mbuemo's goal. Our entire midfield and defence just stood and watched shell-shocked Even if we were trailing shouldn't they show some fight, some desire and scrap? Conceding 4 goals in a space of 20 minutes is unacceptable regardless of what team we are playing or where And Akpom can do one. Third choice behind the useless Hirst and Azon last season and we are hoping he can suddenly be a PL striker? We might as well have been playing with 10 men when he came on
