From BBC Sport

As well as only one striker in Barry, Everton's squad now has just one recognised right-back in Maitland-Niles and one left-back in Vitaliy Mykolenko after youngster Adam Aznou was allowed to join Malaga on loan.

Said this to a mate only yesterday, we have two huge, possibly season defining games vs Palace and Everton. Both in a bit of a mess, and 2 games we should be doing all we can to take advantage of.
Come out of those games with 4/6 points is actually realistic

I thought signing strikers was straightforward?

Hmm..Everton have picked up 4pts from 2 games so far. Please let's not think ANY of our games this season are going to be easy. But yes, we need to target one win from either Everton or Palace.

I'm sure we made similar noises about the early-season Everton game last time around, and look how that ended up going.

The fans have turned on the owners, Harrison Armstrong was all set to join Forest for £40m, been there since a boy and wasn't pushing for a move, Everton fans were singing his name at Bournemouth through the game along with "i predict a riot "....i was reading so many comments online from the fans saying if he goes they're done with the Club, real anger....not surprised it didn't happen in the end.

Yep … a game we ought to be targeting to win in a few weeks.

Don't we also only have one recognized right back and one recognized left back?

Only one recognised right back you say? Let me know when they also have only one recognised left back

Seriously, it seems a bit of a mess and no wonder Moyes and the fans are pissed off. I’ve not read much about them, but is this the same sort of issue Arsenal went through having to restrict spend on the team to pay for a stadium?

Worse still for Moyes, he was *very* sweet on Flemming and wanted the board to sign him this week. He'd been watching him all summer.

I genuinely think there aren’t many PL teams outside the top 6 who have a stronger squad than last season. Whilst there’s still plenty of quality in those teams, this is the kind of break we don’t get last time round.

We really need to capitalise.

Apparently Burnley hijacked Blackburns move for Rio Hitate as he was in west lancs less than 15 miles away... makes you wonder if Everton would have got at Flemming late on if he wasn't sat in Suffolk.

Seen a few of their fans say they can't believe he went for just £17m

Thank goodness the Balogun signing didn't fall through earlier.

Was reading the Monaco CEO account of the events yesterday. Lots of finger pointing in all directions from both clubs and the player claiming he is treated badly because of the medical and he is OK so why are Everton medical team having questions. Must happen regularly during medicals.

Given Everton knew Monaco were desperate for a sale, I wonder if they "needlessly" questioned parts of the tests to delay things and put pressure on Monaco to reduce the price? They may not have known Chelsea had regularly been asking Monaco about Camara and when Monaco suddenly agreed to negotiate that transfer, Everton came back to try and push through Balagun but by then the player had got the hump as he felt respected. Reading between the lines of what the Monaco CEO was saying, I got the impression he thought Everton were playing games.

Could be that little event with the medical backfired on Everton and they lost the man. It would be such a risk to do that and I am sure it is all genuine in which case you feel for Everton as they are doing the correct due diligence to protect the investment in a player and possibly that would be need to ensure valid insurance cover for the player.

It's strange really how certain clubs hang about the Premier League yet seldom win anything. Everton and Newcastle come to mind. Both have capacities above 50,000 which is some 20,000 above our current capacity.
Are managers of these clubs brought in just to keep these clubs in the Prem or is there a real desire to achieve something.
I think personally the former and maybe our owners have a similar desire because the chances of doing a Leicester are pretty remote and given that the top clubs are paying fees for one player when we get half a squad for the same amount it just goes to show what you are up against.
Which all makes the achievements of Sir Alf and Sir Bobby even greater.

Lots of teams are weirdly unbalanced after a frenetic window. Everton, Palace, Fulham. Even City left themselves with just one striker.

Obviously the proof is in the results, but i do believe we've ended up having quite a good window, addressing a number of issues and leaving ourselves in a good spot.

Newcastle have qualified for Champions League twice in last four seasons and have won a cup? Everton have never been out the top flight but are a bit of mess internally it seems.

Two are international's [or have recently been]

One is a 17 year old prodigy who recently scored against PSG. Physically he's well beyond his years.

Would I swap their strike force for ours - too bloody right!

Yeah sorry, I didn't mean easy by any means (and if I'm being completely honest I thought it was Palace away and Everton at home!)
