I’m not excusing him for what he did, it’s wrong - but I would say his case is more similar to John Davidson at the Brits than it is to a genuine Nazi, and it seems wrong to marginalise people with mental health issues for outbursts caused by said issues. Is what he did a criminal offence under UK law?

I am committed to starting with myself and learning from this experience to ensure greater sensitivity and understanding in the future.”
Except – oh yes, that was his 2023 apology. That was followed in 2025 by what we might term Kanye’s second Nazi period (quite literally, with comments such as “I am a Nazi”), various hideous statements about Jews, and of course the release of a song called “Heil Hitler”, which rapidly became the anthem of some sort of bizarre post-racial far right. And because this has now happened multiple times, a lot of Jewish people I know have adopted a “fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me” approach to the man.
I think this is where it gets difficult. Most people with bipolar can be sectioned or equivalent if they are in a manic episode - he has millions of Twitter followers at his fingertips and people around him that will do whatever he says and not challenge him

I couldn’t give a monkeys whether he has bipolar disease or an ingrowing toenail. Trump nut, Brazil nut, Putin or whatever nut. People like that, whatever they are ranting against, should be told ‘no, go elsewhere’ and not ever allowed here along with any other hate merchant.

We have enough hate preachers outside of Reform to.
As a matter of interest a wiki list of terrorist incidents is attached. Surprisingly few people work for the security services and it is as one once put it ‘we have to get it right every time, the bad guys only have to get it right once’. Hats off to the clever people engaged in this work who protect us from mounting threats.
Any steps taken to keep out people who incite and encourage hatred and worse like West gets my support.
