Its going to be bloody horrible in the stands on Monday, isn't it? 10:21 - Apr 1 with 7320 viewsDubtractor

Not massively looking forward to it tbh.

Was hoping to see some of Ashton's bridge building before now tbh, as it really needs something to take the edge off it.

Such an unbelievable own goal.

Do you know anyone in the real world who has mentioned it?

I work with Blackburn, Forest, Wolves, Spurs, Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal, Leicester and Liverpool fans. Constantly talking football over Slack. Not one person has mentioned it. Not one person has mentioned it face to face.

It was utterly stupid and a big mistake but this idea we're not Reform's club etc is laughable.

Truly impaired.

A handful of people at work have mentioned it, but given that I am known as "the Ipswich fan" in the office I did anticipate getting a bit more stick for it. Sounds like people have had very mixed experiences.

The only people who believe we're Reform FC are those on here who are repulsed by Farage's politics, let's have it right. Pardon the pun.

Personally, I consider myself a centre-right leaning individual, so I'm only 'repulsed' by some of what he says per se. However, I'm repulsed by Ashton's actions and deceit. There's a big difference.

As another poster said, we should be chanting "we're only here for the football" between now and May.

Hopefully the football is good, the result is good & we can get back to being a football club again.

what have i called wrong exactly? being able to tell the difference between shouty people like you on here and the real world isn't a fault.

Nope, absolutely nothing from anyone. No ribbing or mention from anyone at work like I do if we lose etc

It’s one of them where it’s enhanced for us online and all over everything when it comes to ITFC.

That honestly surprises me. I've had loads of texts about it from non-Town supporters, probably because they know how angry the situation would make me. I guess all our experiences are different.

Strength of feeling on my side remains high but if I was going on Monday I would get behind the team in the stadium and just pray nobody starts any divisive chants.

I would also attend the protest first if I was going.

I don’t think so. It’s a football game that we need to win, and I imagine a large number of people including myself will be most focused on that rather than the embarrassment Ashton has caused us.

I think it really depends on your workplace and social circles tbh. Ive had some ribbing from non town supporting mates, and without exception every town fan i know in person is massively annoyed (or worse) about the whole mess.

For context, my social group would overwhelmingly be fall under the definition of 'centrist dads', and isn't sone left wing collective out on marches every week.

I don't have many lefty friends to be honest, but I'd say that my Town supporting friends are split between how I feel and not really caring.

Who knows what Monday will bring in terms of supporter reaction, or the reaction of the players, as I cannot believe this will not have had an affect on some of them.

George Hirst will be fine, hating Palestine as he does.

Can fully support KM & players while calling for the removal of Ashton. Nothing "toxic" about preferring the club isn't run by a liar. Ashton is detached from the playing side. Most people want him gone. Don't forget nearly half the squad is an ethnic minority. Polling shows nearly 80% of whom **hate** reform. Phil's word from the players suggests they might even be relieved and supportive that we aren't letting this slide.

Most ?? In my circle of Town fans they couldn’t give a jot about any of this , neither do I .
I think a vast number of the concerned amongst us really think that they are in the majority , would hazard a guess it’s very much the minority IMHO.

My boss, a Lazio fan from Rome, brought it up unprompted in a "now who's embarrassed by their right-wing football team, huh?" kind of way.

I'm not sure about that. I certainly don't believe mine is the majority viewpoint, though that doesn't really have any relevance on how I feel.

I mean, it obviously has been news in the football world; I'd be surprised if *no-one* mentioned it.

Who cares what other people think?

This is about ITFC, it’s fans and the contempt we’ve been shown by that clownish buffoon in charge.

I couldn’t give a fk what anybody else thinks. I care what I think and I think integrity and not being a racist sympathizing weasel is an important characteristic in a CEO.

You don’t I guess?
