… In Brexit. And that Burnham is lying. When it’s proven they did.
What impact their social media influence - on scale - caused to the Leave vote is of course open to interpretation.
BUT - what is now emerging is that Ukraine have now bombed Russian server farms. And the level of Trump promoting accounts have significantly diminished.
It’s almost like our biggest security threat - Putin - is pro Trump/Reform.
It’s almost like Reform are bad for the UK?!
Letting that dangerous idiot into our club to use our brand remains a stain.

Some fair points in there. I suspect people often get credited for things they didn't do in the same way they get criticised when things go wrong that were not their fault. What I would support is creating a business atmosphere, which it seems he did to an extent to attract foreign investment. I look forward to national business rate cuts, a reduction in corporation tax and as much burning of regulation as possible.
However, attributing modest city success to Burnham is a bit of a stretch for me. More importantly, I don't think any of that is particularly relevant to national politics. That is particularly the case with macroeconomic policy and foreign policy. His kmowledge and insight for both of which I don't trust. Still, it's a good job he has so much knowledge and experience in his cabinet to draw on......
As usual I have to respond to your personal points. I don't read the 'Tory Press' (never the Mail, Express or Sun). I do visit the Telegraph on occasions as well as the Spectator, Spiked and Unheard. But this is almost always for the opinion pieces. When criticising the right-wing press, I think it's important to remember the political biases of the Guardian. I enjoy reading opinion pieces from many on there in spite of this.
I have posted from a variety of sources on here in the past and read across many domestic and international sources.
I don't travel too much to northern England as I have no connections there.
I guess that beats my two decades living here then.

Excellent. I still hope my prediction of a swing back is a reasonable one.
Are you surprised that only one percentage point separates Lab v Con? Given that Labour have had a decent summer?

In a number of ways.
Downing Street has had to issue two separate clarifications on comments he has made so far. He is commenting on an open issue, subject to appeal He has had to publish all Mayoral dealings Another £300k worth of freebies, Lucy Powell benefiting nicely. The left will say it's all within the rules of course. It is and I have been lucky enough to be given some in my career, but then I'm not a socialist. Happy to take to Petrodollars from the UAE, so let's go easy on the green levies then.

In other Reform news.....
The Investigatory Committee looking into dodgy donations set up by Reform and comprising only Reform members has completely exonerated eveyone of everything. There was no wrong doing in any way, shape or form.
So that's all right then.
And today, Reform MP Jenrick, R has suggested that the Royal Marines be allowed to machine gun occupants of small boats crossing the English Channel.... literally gunning down unarmed women and children
Hopefully Reform will continue to tank in the polls as we increasingly get to see what they are really like

And in fairness Jenrick had not asked 'Royal Marines be allowed to machine gun occupants of small boats crossing the English Channel' (which I suspect a Royal Marine would refuse to do anyway and direct the person asking them to the Geneva Convention, if their commanding officer had not already done so) but said:
'What we are going to do, and we’re the only political party that has the courage to say this, is deploy the Royal Marines into the Channel. If they need to use lethal force, then they’ll be able to do so,'
Still reckless and 'Farage said he would not authorise routine use of force, that it would be used only if soldiers were fired at' only emphasises the almost guaranteed failure of a policy that ramps up the ante - if Reform were elected, and this is yet another reason to hope that never happens. Of course a soldier has to have the right to return fire but why turn the hunted into the hunter ?

I mean, he's pretty close to saying that isn't he? It's just semantics, because the likelyhood of people in small boats bringing guns with them and shooting at the Royal Marines I'd have thought was pretty slim!

Pretty clear what Jenrick means.
It's Reform stirring the pot and getting people riled up. Its all they have to offer.
I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun.
I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.
Those who, in response to Burnham, say "yes it's likely Russia interfered with Brexit, but their influence was minor" are forgetting something. The result was 51.9% - 48.1% for Leave. If there had been even a 2% swing caused by Russian disinformation ("70m Turks will invade", "£350m/week could be spent on NHS", etc) then we'd have remained. Today, our economy would be 4% or £120bn bigger per year (according to OBR). We'd be in the Dublin Accord, so would be able to turn back small-boats if that tickles your pickle. We'd be more united with other middle-powers in an increasingly dangerous "might means right" world.
Exiting this Brexit bin-fire all comes down to puncturing the "Freedom of Movement" fallacy, starting with giving it its proper name: FoM of Workers. It was never a free-for-all on the benefits system/NHS as Farage guffed. Even this week, MPs are mis-characterising this as the reason to stay out.

Quite. It’s bleedingly obvious they’re interfering. There have be been plenty of studies and reports that have provided evidence that Russia is subverting our democracy. It probably not possible to say how much of an impact they had compared to our own press/politicians, but yes I agree it wouldn’t have needed to be much of an impact to have potentially been significant to the result.
The drop off in bot farm traffic promoting MAGA following Ukraine taking out a Russian data centre is fascinating stuff.

Bump...
I think you'll be waiting a long time for a reasoned response from Benters. He just hates Labour in the same way a football fan hates their rivals. Unfortunately he hasn't thought of a rhyme for Burnham like 'two tier Keir' yet.

Could have been way worse, imagine if we would have invited Polanski.
Well yes, the sexual offences issue would have been almost as awkward but would it have been fair to get a ninety two year old to struggle round a stadium tour ? Although he might have made a good film out of it...

Jenrick should stick to tackling shoplifters...sort this one out you complete and utter Newark
'Kimberly Guilfoyle’s time as US ambassador to Greece attracted scrutiny over her close relationships with influential Greek businessmen...including Alexandros Exarchou, head of Aktor, a major Greek construction and infrastructure group involved in deals to import American liquefied natural gas...Guilfoyle encouraged Balkan governments to work with Aktor, while a registered lobbyist for the company accompanied her to diplomatic meetings...For a long time, Guilfoyle was in Trump's family orbit. She was in a relationship with the president's son, Donald Trump Jr from 2018 to late 2024 and they were engaged for almost four years.'

Use to not anymore destroyed by left wing policies
So the sum total of how the country is gone and is not what it once was is that we have a PM called Andy instead of Andrew (or Maggie for that matter).
And I bet there are still plenty that don't get that through a pure accident of birth you live in a country in which you enjoy a standard of living far better than the majority of the planet and just swallow the lie that the country is gone.
