| SuffPunch added 18:39 - Jan 31 Very lackluster and lethargic today. Sideways, backwards, and predictable. I'm hopeful that a fit Dan Neil will bring some drive and energy. Most importantly in my eyes is the urgent need for a top class number 9 Linkboy13 added 18:52 - Jan 31 I think the absence of Nunez was very evident today we sadly missed his work rate and endeavour plus he's a very good player. Still waiting for the Cajuste master class they keep telling me about pretty much anonymous today. Matusiwa was his usual consistent self. Clarke was persistent dispite being constantly fouled with no action from the referee. Egeli worries me he's not showing he's worth the money we paid for him he always looks disinterested to me. Robert_Garrett added 21:19 - Jan 31 Does the crowd really need to suck the ball into the net? What do we expect when Kieran wins manager of the month - thats a guarantee for a temporary glitch! We must now stand up and be counted and reel in three points at Pompey. Maltster added 12:16 - Feb 1 This match clearly showed that unless we get a good striker by tomorrow we may not eveen be in the play offs Arnie added 15:02 - Feb 1 We need a proven goal scorer / centre forward as we did have some golden chances, Akpom's header & Hirst's flick past the goalkeeper and mishit shot across the goal should have produced three goals. Kipre was left exposed and struggling on many occasions, probably his worst performance, maybe Davies to blame for most of these lapses due to his lack of cover. Mehmeti showed potential and Burns looked good when he did get the ball. Jack Clarke fought well and was continuously fouled without any protection from one of the worst ever referees we've seen at Portman Road. Walton made a few good saves but Taylor cost us the goal by passing the ball to straight to the opposition in the area leaving Walton stranded for Preston's goal. Agree Cajuste is under performing, looks good but no goals from mid-field, time for a rethink here. Similat with Egeli. Overall Preston came for the point and nearly got all three, unless we score early on we struggle with packed defences. Automatic promotion is currently not on the cards especially with the up coming away fixtures in February, play offs still on at present but not top two.
