Why are people still refusing to see the obvious? Regardless of whether you support Reform or not Ashton has brought the club into disrepute, affecting fans, players, staff and sponsors detrimentally and has to go. Ashton Out.
so if he doesn’t go are all you all going to continue to boycott home games?…

Surely the outers are more of the cause because anyone who doesn't care is probably an inner by default as they don't want anything to rock the boat?
I am not suggesting you SHOULD change your opinion, just within the context of what you are saying about uniting the fan base it would be easier (numbers wise) for the outers to forgive him.
Again, not suggesting anyone puts their moral issues aside, just making the point.
Basically J2 it seems you just don't much like rocking any boats!

Personally I have accepted that if he goes at all it will be in the Summer and I will likely go to the Boro match for the sake of a big game and the chance to have a quality day out with my daughter, likely won't do the QPR game and then won't renew until he is gone. Fortunately I have enough points to continue taking in some away days whatever league we're in next season. Thanks for asking. Ashton Out.

Tbh - am getting to the stage where I am increasingly disillusioned with the owners and their inability to properly act on a CEO who as well as hosting/facilitating Farage's PR exercise, has been shown to be dishonest and is a bully too.
If our owners chose to sweep that all under the carpet I won't be giving them my money. Venture capitalist owners who have effectively been a "marriage of convenience" and way better than Evans for sure - but when push comes to shove they seem way more interested in making money than in improving Portman Rd for the traditional fan base.
Whether that's the continued failure to introduce safe standing behind the goals, to meaningfully engage with Blue Action or their pushing hospitality and light shows as if that is what the ordinary fan wants to see.
Maybe I'm just falling out of love with the modern game - but I really enjoy the away matches, where everyone stands, everyone sings and football is more enjoyable to watch than the sterile Portman Rd that is seemingly the norm in modern times.
For me, I'm done until Ashton is gone, and the club start to engage properly with the fan base.

How do you know that all the ‘fanbase’ want him out? What evidence do you have of that? A percentage will support Reform, a larger percentage will not or quite frankly don’t wish to mix this football club and going to a football match with politics.
Plenty will think that MA had credit in the bank, some will think it’s a lot of nothing. Others will view it as naive, plain stupid, badly handled you name it so ‘uniting the fanbase’ around your view might not be as easy as you think.
I got no sense of mass anti Ashton or anti anything hysteria at PR and had a seat neighbour wanted to talk about it, it wouldn’t have been with me. None of my chums have mentioned it nor even has Mrs C.
ITFC got a mention in the objection to Farage’s proposed match attendance at a Sunderland game but around the unhappiness of supporters having NF use the club, the poor decision to allow a politician in and the potential negative effect on sponsors, players and staff etc. the snow job and lies didn’t rate a mention.
My two mackem mates who are very much the other end of the oar from Reform haven’t mentioned it. It’s just not on the radar for them.
I have expressed my view on the situation, NF and the CEO. He will be gone or sideways’d in the summer as of course McKenna will be.
Today should have been about enjoying the result. Blokes on a football pitch supported by a couple of thousand supporters and thousands more in pubs, in front of the tv, radio. A fun couple of hours. In a world of such threat and impending disaster, the least of which will be economic, it would have been nice to just focus on that for a few hours and enjoy it.
But nope, you can’t leave it alone. You are not alone. You win, I’m done on here for now.
I always assumed you were a fully grown man who understood that some people won’t have the same opinion as you and that you don’t get to choose hiw/when/why others feel or communicate how they feel about things - my bad.

Is there any evidence this episode has detrimentally affected the sponsors?
I for one am never going to order a Hawk Express cab again!

If a sponsor was unhappy over the whole thing, they would make that clear privately and not in public.
Potential future sponsors will do their homework as they will wish for their brand values to fully align with any club they chose to sponsor. That is why Ipswich (and many clubs) push so hard on being seen as part of the community and of being inclusive.
So if you are expecting evidence from a sponsors speaking out - you won't get it. But that does not mean our sponsors are happy and/or that our future deals won't be effected.

Is that an attempt and belittling, contempt, condescension or just plain rudeness?
If you have ever read my posts you will know that respect for others’ views most things is something I’ve always embraced. As is basic curtesy.
The irony is that the ramming of a viewpoint endlessly day after day could be interpreted as not understanding that some people won’t necessarily have the same viewpoint as you. And if they do, they might be getting bored with hearing what they already know and agree with over and over.
People are free to post the same message every 10 mins if they wish. Personally, I’m just a little sad some couldn’t take time out and enjoy yesterday purely for what it was. Up to them.

It doesn't mean our sponsors aren't happy and future deals will be affected either. If there's no evidence either way (yet) then I'm not sure it's fair to list it as an issue.

i don't think phil, the eadt et al would have published it, if they didn't understand it to be the case, and ashton has had weeks to rebuff it. his silence speaks volumes

Word on the mean streets of Dennington is that Ed is furious, as you would expect! Maybe you can explain how the sponsors wouldn't give a feck at having their brands associated with intolerant bigots?

discovering that you are in a small minority on this is a step towards realising the difference between the dominant group on here and the real world. it is exposes the entitled and preening expectation that the club, ashton, other institutions and everyone else should always reflect your own views back at you. being in a small minority means you don't always get what you demand - ashton being sacked for example.
What’s it like living in a world where everyone is an idiot except you? I don’t think you even read the posts that you reply to, as you clearly just make up your own narrative.

Ed Sheeran's manager went public with his disapproval of the Farage visit, but going back to your previous post about the owners; it's a complex arrangement at present and I was surprised, and maybe a little bit pleased, to find out our Club is 43% owned by a Native American investment vehicle. I would like to think that they were the driving force for his being pulled up and having to make his attempt at an apology.
As an aside, and in a belated response to another thread about why does the Club send out celebrate Ramadan and Hannukah messages to supporters but not Christmas one, the fourth weekend in April is national powwow day in the United States and I think there should be a message going out before the game at West Brom in respect for that 43%. Can't think what that message could be...

That's nonsense, the club did put out Christmas messages.

So if he doesn't go at the end of the season, & the fans all renew season tickets, players don't down tools, we still retain staff plus sponsors stay with the club, what will your position be.

Conveniently ignoring the bit about Ed Sheeran's manager! You can be priceless at times Dollers!
eh? I don't have a comment to make on Ed Sheeran's manager. I do know that Town send out Christmas messages every year, so I responded to that. Is there some sort of law I don't know about, that if you want to respond to an erroneous comment you have to respond to every other comment that poster made as well?
Thought i would pop on and enjoy yesterdays result and can still see the same old names banging on about the same old subject, even though virtually all of the sane world has moved on.
To see decent posters like Churchman being patronised by the boards most sanctimonious arse is yet another low point in this saga.
Anyway, I guess you mad bunch have to keep shouting about it on here because it must be really upsetting to see the incident fade away without the witch burning that you craved.
Im off again, this place is still ruled by about 10 of you and its obvious that it will never change. Shame really
Up the blues, looks like this season might end up being a success, who wouldve thunk it.
