| Decided I’m not going to the game Monday 20:43 - Mar 29 with 23245 views | The_Romford_Blue | Sometimes you’ve got to take a moral standpoint. Never been so disappointed by our club. For people like Newcy to say he doesn’t want to bring his kids to the games, for Rainbow Tractors having to make their account private on Twitter, for the girl who does the Art who’s been dragged into it by Reform, for those of us who’ve received hundreds of abusive replies by far-right scumbags, and for anyone else who - as a result of our clubs actions - have had OUR club cause them problems this week.. for those people I’m going to vote with me feet. Selling the ticket would be counter-intuitive of my not-going | |

| Decided I’m not going to the game Monday on 20:53 - Mar 29 with 8604 views | Nutkins_Return | You've got to make the right choice for you and whatever you do is completely your call. Disgusted at what happened but for me it's on Ashton now. Personally think he should step down but if not he needs to use actions and not his hollow words to turn this around with some quality community initiatives backing up our values. BUT personally I think we should back the team. None of this was the the team or McKenna. Frankly they need us now. But whatever your decision and it seems you have made it then I'd respect it. | |

They’re running fine. And I’ve the day off booked for it specifically. And the ST is paid for. I just personally don’t want to go. It’s that simple. Ashtons actions and the subsequent cover-up has made me want to take the stance of voting with my feet. It’s a shame. But it’s my choice.

| Decided I’m not going to the game Monday on 21:01 - Mar 29 with 8475 views | Churchman | Not sure why you are sharing this with the rest of us. To encourage others? I personally feel the players, the people of the past, those who work at the club who this has nothing whatsoever to do with could do with a little support. I’ll be there. Resale is easy but to make max impact, I’m presuming you won’t be reselling your ticket and leaving the seat empty? A better idea for anyone who might wish to go is to resell your ticket, but of course that wouldn’t hurt the club. How about write to the club and tell them you are done, resell and donate the money to a local charity in Romford or wherever? Let’s face it, given how badly this clown government and worse predecessors have mismanaged this country any charity will welcome your contribution. Heck, it’s a free country. Up to you. | | | |

| Decided I’m not going to the game Monday on 21:04 - Mar 29 with 8428 views | thebooks | I thought about this, but decided I will be going. I’m hoping for (rather than expecting) some sort of spontaneous fan action, and want to get involved in that. Alternatively, I want to do something should any Reform/Farage chants get going. Longer term, I’ll consider where we are come the end of the season. If Ashton’s still in the place and it’s just become accepted I’ll probably not renew. | | | |
| Decided I’m not going to the game Monday on 21:04 - Mar 29 with 8435 views | LevelTheLand | Good on you, Rommers. Ignore the people who haven't the capacity to understand why you're doing what you're doing. | | | |
| Decided I’m not going to the game Monday on 21:09 - Mar 29 with 8310 views | Herbivore | Very much respect you on this one, Rommers. I'm yet to decide on what I'm going to do, it's a tough call. I understand the perspective of those who say the team needs our support and that what happened wasn't their fault. That is correct. However, as fans there's not loads of ways we can tangibly show dissent towards the club's actions. Withholding support is one of the few things we can do to show how pissed off we are at what happened and how the fallout was handled. Ultimately it comes down to how strongly one feels about it. I'm still quite torn over it. I won't be judging anyone who decides not to go or those who decide that they will go. | |

| Decided I’m not going to the game Monday on 21:09 - Mar 29 with 8333 views | NewcyBlue | To be honest Rommy, I think you should go. A chorus of Ipswich lives in racial harmony would send a far greater message. I’m Ipswich til I die to drown out any pro Farage rubbish. They cannot win. | |

It won't make a single bit of difference to the club and you are missing out on something you clearly enjoy. But it's very much your choice and if it makes you feel better, then go for it.
| Decided I’m not going to the game Monday on 21:16 - Mar 29 with 8225 views | J2BLUE | Respect your stance. A couple of things though... 1) Wouldn't turning up and protesting before and after have more impact than now showing up at all? 2) Doesn't not going suggest that our entire club is tarnished rather than a few people making stupid decisions? The club is not Ashton. While you can clearly do whatever you want, you don't need to pay for his mistakes. 3) The players are also angry. Turning up and making it clear you support them would probably immediately put them at ease when they could be expecting a difficult game with a difficult atmosphere. 4) Maybe wait and see what McKenna says? I doubt he's going to say yea Ashton screwed up and is a massive pr1ck but he might well encourage the fans to turn up and support the team for 90 mins. The stakes for the club are huge. There must be a real chance we can get promoted and Ashton be replaced in the summer. | |

| Decided I’m not going to the game Monday on 21:18 - Mar 29 with 8190 views | Swansea_Blue | I wouldn’t skip it, but that’s your choice and should be respected. For a bit more impact maybe you should ping a short email off to the owners saying ‘I would have been there, but this has upset me because of a/b/c’. Your boycott would have more impact and you’d be able to tell the owners why it’s an issue. Just a thought and I’m sure someone here has an email address for the owners (there’s no point emailing Ashton at this stage; he’ll just double down or more likely ignore you). | |

No I don’t have the capacity to understand why he is doing what he’s doing or announcing to the ether that he’s doing it. Harming the people who work for that club and the team that represent it in my mind cannot be reconciled with the actions of a few individuals at most who caused this mess. They will be gone sooner or later - along with some of our better players, McKenna and his staff. It’s inevitable. Maybe the bedrock of the club could do with some support? Unless as some do you want to return this club to the warm and comfy decaying sh1t pit it once was. I’ve no idea how many people work for the club but I doubt many are happy with what happened last week. They work, they do their best. It’s how it is. From a capacity free ignoramus, nobody goes to a game to cheer Ashton’s neatly trimmed beard or some boxer he’s shovelled into the directors box. They go to watch a game. Partake. Hope, cheer, be happy or sad. It sport and my team. Those that do that have zilch to do with people who nudge up to vermin masquerading as politicians, whoever they vote for. But hey, his choice.
| Decided I’m not going to the game Monday on 21:32 - Mar 29 with 7916 views | DinnernotTea | So to clarify... A group of up to 16 Ipswich Town footballers will take to the field in Game 1 of a monster month of fixtures which could make or break the short term future of this football club. But because you don't agree with a man that will never ever wear the blue and white of Ipswich Town Football Club, you aren't going. I'll hold my tongue because sometimes there are no words. Out of interest (even though we know why), is there any reason why you've decided to tell strangers on the Internet? | |

‘But because you don't agree with a man that will never ever wear the blue and white of Ipswich Town Football Club, you aren't going.’ If you truly believe that’s what this is, then there’s very little point in me even bothering to explain why.
