Sometimes you’ve got to take a moral standpoint.

Never been so disappointed by our club.

For people like Newcy to say he doesn’t want to bring his kids to the games, for Rainbow Tractors having to make their account private on Twitter, for the girl who does the Art who’s been dragged into it by Reform, for those of us who’ve received hundreds of abusive replies by far-right scumbags, and for anyone else who - as a result of our clubs actions - have had OUR club cause them problems this week.. for those people I’m going to vote with me feet.

gtsb1966, I 100% agree with you

At the end of the day, Nigel Farage is a well liked and well respected MP by many thousands of people in this country, and so is Reform.
If he wasn't popular,he wouldn't have been voted in at Clacton.
He has tons of rallies around the country that are sold out in no time
He represented south east England for 21 years as MEP in the European Parliament.
Like it or not, the bloke is very popular.

It's become a joke now on this forum and people have blown it way, way, way out of proportion, with many jumping on the bandwagon just for the sake of it.
I have been going to Portman Road for 55 years now and I couldn't give two figs about what has happened the past week.

Mark Ashton can invite or have lunch with whoever he likes at the football club.
I am involved in ITFC to support my team on the pitch on a Saturday afternoon or midweek.
Grow up people!

At the end of the day, Adolf Hitler is a well liked and well respected politician by many thousands of people in Germany, and so is the Nazi Parrty.
If he wasn't popular,he wouldn't have been voted in.

I do think he's gone - not because of a morale decision - but for a business decision.

Have worked for large organisations involved in developing strong brands - as the finance bod. The damage to our brand (and finances) is real - and the owners will know that.

He's toast - just wish they'd get a move on and then we can all move on.

He won't be toast if there's no pressure. If the notion that getting behind the boys means we should not call for the removal of Ashton, then he's going nowhere. I support the club first and foremost. That means doing both, and yes, during the game.

F#ck off to Reform

Wiping the sh1t off your bum would have quite appropriate for her response given her defense of the Tory environmental record...

Dreadful creature. I think she’s in the HoL now. You couldn’t make it up. If ever there was a reason to scrap that non elected bunch, she’s it.

Bet she gets through a few of those HoL lunches. One of the best restaurants in London, I gather. There was a move to merge it with the Commons one to save money. The Lords flatly refused as theirs is markedly better.

And we get to pay for it! Aren’t we lucky…

The one that got me with her was when the police shut down the Orwell bridge to deal with a young girl who was threatening to jump.

Now I'm not slow to criticise the police (No sh1t) but how on earth can you criticise them (as she did) for patiently dealing with a young suicidal girl?

The police saved a girls life but Therese publicly complained about the inconvenience for road users. Piece of sh1t imho.

Good , that’s hysterical.

Stay away and don’t come back again , don’t need negative people especially those who get upset by the smallest things that don’t matter .

Buzzing to know there will be no more ‘negative’ people at the games and that I will never again have to listen to ironic cheering when our own players get subbed off.

I resent the point of view that anyone having a different opinion on this subject as being far right.
Yes I agree it was an error by the club to allow Farage a platform. One which I believe is being blown out of all proportion and will if not stepped down will affect the club, players and sponsors.
If we got into the Premier League, which I believe if this campaign continues to gather pace we won't, everyone including those that seem intent on killing the club from within, will want Gamechanger and co to spend millions on new players.
If this situation means fans don't go to games, don't buy shirts, match day programs etc, etc it will affect the club.

I echo your words!
I’ve given mine for free to a community group that work with migrants. They will give them out to their beneficiaries. I hope they have a great day and don’t get any abuse from morons.

I think this is the wrong choice to make.

McKenna and the players don’t deserve to lose the support, if anything they deserve more support and a big united front.

Having a full house and positive atmosphere would be a big f’ck you to many.

If you’re not going to this one then your season is over as surely you won’t go to any more until Ashton is gone? And that probably won’t happen until the summer.

In what way would it be a f'ck you to anyone. Reform don't give a sh**t about the impact to the club. All it does is let Ashton off the hook for his terrible behavior and management of the club. Probably inflating his ego further.

That is awful and just demonstrates that hag’s contempt for others. Still, it’ll never match my contempt for her or most of them come to that. Lizards all.

It’s actually why I’m so keen to see football clubs as far away from politics as possible. All of them.

Those looking to laugh at / point the finger at or object to anyone standing by a principle in my experience are not worth worrying about young Rommers.

You don't need to justify your views to anyone unless you wish to.

Respectfully, and equally, anyone who does not support large numbers of undocumented men arriving in the country each day is not automatically far right, despite often being labelled that way.

Would you feel the same way if it had been the hugely popular elected MP and Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn instead?

Fair enough if you would but I know it would have caused equal outrage and rightly so.

I haven't read through the thread but well done, Rommy, and well done to all those who can still decide to go despite their opposition to what Ashton has done.

I can see both sides of the argument.

The position Ashton has put fans in is a great shame and he needs to go.

"large numbers" - I respect your view Rob. I hope it doesn't impact your opinion that politicising ITFC (via any party) was wrong.

Truth is though, numbers are tiny. ONS say small-boat arrivals are 4.8% of total immigrants in the most recent year.
https://www.gov.uk/government/
43,000 vs 898,000 total immigrants:
https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplep

43k is 0.06% of the UK population. Not much of a problem, but stopping the draw is as important as stopping the boats. Illegal-worker visits have increased by half since the Tories were ousted. Net migration (immigrants minus emigrants) fell from from 649,000 to 204,000 in the most recent year.

I agree with you re the hard-right. They're unreachable and not worth the time. Rob doesn't fall into that category. We can't give up all Reform voters. Worth keeping the conversation going with those who want to engage in good faith.

It's worth distinguishing between those who might be tempted to vote Reform in a particular election, from those who broadly support them across the board, and at the far end the outright can't-be-swayed Farage fan boys.
